Name one other person you know who has a “Reserved” table at Whataburger!
Good evening, my friends,
We are waiting to head out to the movies as a fitting end to my 74th birthday. We’ll see the expendable, which will probably be a shoot’em up, blow’em up, car chase scenes galore, explosions and lots of violence, but what’s new in the movies today???
Hopefully, shortly, four of my novels will be on the way to Hollywood to be considered for the movies. Now, there would be some great movies! If you’ve read my novels, I believe you’ll agree with my statement.
But, back to Whataburger – when we arrived this morning, there was a “Reserved” sign on our usual table, and balloons everywhere. Then, at noon, the Reserved sign was still in place. We got our meals free, courtesy of the manager, Toni, and the entire staff brought out a chocolate icing white cake with candles on it and sang “Happy Birthday” to me. It was really special. If I can discover how to download a picture onto my blog, I’ll show you what I mean. (I am not that computer-literate).
We took Carol for a CAT scan in Portland. On the way, I discovered my driver’s license expired today, so we stopped in Aransas Pass and I was able to renew it in a matter of minutes. Then we spent a half hour at Starbucks in Portland where the staff gave us free Frappuccinos for my birthday. (Is this a trend?)
So, it’s been a nice day – hot, but nice as far as my birthday is concerned.
We are hanging tough in the Whataburger contest, still in 13th place the last time I checked.
Keep voting and tell your friends to vote and tell their friends to vote, etc, on into infinity…
So, it’s off to the movies for us.
Until next time
Vaya con Dias, my friends,
Karl & Carol
