Good evening, my friends, LTBPOE,
While we wait to hear the results of the Massachusetts election, I’ll tell you the latest from the insurance company.
I thought it was too good to be true when we received two letters from them within a few days of providing them with all the information I thought they needed.
And, I was right! Now, they want verification from the Princess Cruise Line to confirm how long our baggage was missing and the circumstances.
Plus, they want American Airlines to confirm my statements about missing our flight and not being able to get out for days.
I contacted Princess and they told me to email their “lost and found” division - which I did. To date, I have not received any indication they got my email or when they may respond.
American Airlines, (a nice lady named Marion), was more sympathetic. She directed me to their website and the correct “button” to push to submit my request.
Today, AA came back with a partial reply, but I fear it is not enough to satisfy the insurance company, since it states “the tickets were refunded”, but does not state they were refunded to Princess instead of me.
So, I wrote AA again, asking for a clearer verification and giving them word for word what the insurance company is seeking.
Perhaps with a little help from above, I’ll get the proper paperwork to submit and we’ll see what the insurance company does to make up for our losses and extra expense.
Good news on another front - my proof copy of “Palmyra - Isle of Death” was mailed on Monday and should be here by the end of the week. I know many of you are waiting for my next novel. I’ll notify you here and by mail and email when it is available to purchase a signed first edition directly from me.
The thought that entered my mind the other night about “The Don’s Stimulus Package” worked out very well. I finished writing about 20 pages this afternoon on the new subjects and characters. You’ll be happy to know this novel is approximately 1/3 of the way complete - at least the first draft. There are always changes and corrections, but at least things are falling in place for yet another adventure with Roger, Carl and the gang.
Keep your fingers crossed for us on the insurance problem.
The polls close in 30 minutes, so I’d better sign off and go watch TV. Let’s hope our man wins.
We need to send a definite message to Obama and his group. “We’re mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore!”
Until next time,
Via con Dias, my friends,
Karl
