Good evening, my friends,
Yes, the rain is gone, but not the cold north wind. It’s bee chilly all day.
We had a nice visit with old military friends from Carol’s reserve unit - the 924th.
Ed and Rhonda dropped by this afternoon and met us at What A Burger - when we weren’t home around noon, they knew just where to find us!
We hadn’t seen Ed and Rhonda in nearly 15 years, but we took up right where we left off those many years ago.
That’s the wonderful thing about ex-military friends: We’ve all been through the same things; poor pay in the early years, hardship or remote assignments in far off lands where Americans are sometimes despised, but whenever we meet up again, it’s like old home week. We laugh a lot and relate old stories we’ve probably all heard several times, but never interrupt the teller by saying so. I believe it’s the comradeship from our years together in the USAF or other military branch. We recognize we are all world travelers and love our country. There’s no place like the United States of America. I think that says it all.
On another subject, have you heard Ray Stevens’ new song? If not, go to www.raystevens.com and listen to it.
The chorus is great: “If you vote for Obama care, we’re gonna vote you outta there”!
We are anxiously awaiting the results of the election in Massachusetts, (I don’t live there, but I can spell it)!
I am so tired of the graft and corruption in this administration. Outright bribery doesn’t mean a thing to the leaders of our land. It’s time we stood up and took control of our own destiny by voting them all out on their ears, (with their full retirement). I think the Democrats who decided to retire saw the handwriting on the wall.
But, no matter how you think about this situation, I hope you’ll ALL get out there and vote your conscious in the fall of 2010.
This country has got to change for the better. I know a lot of you thought Obama was the light at the end of the tunnel, but by now I know you must realize he is just like any other politician. Say one thing and do the other.
When will it end?
But, enough. I promised not to argue politics or religion; (but, one out of two isn’t bad, is it)?
Here’s another tale a friend sent me. I think it says it all:
Three men married wives from different states:
The first man married a woman from Illinois. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.
The second man married a woman from Kansas. He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn’t see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes done and there was a huge dinner on the table.
The third man married a girl from Texas. He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn’t see anything, the second day he didn’t see anything but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down. Now he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.
Which, by the way, is where the saying, “Don’t mess with Texas” originated.
Until next time,
Via con Dias, my friends,
Karl
